Hiking up to Lake Churup is challenging yet a fantastic hike affording excellent panoramic views, right at the armpit of Churup mountain (5495 m) Lake Churup trek takes only a half a day, and is popular also for acclimatization.

Itinerary: Galaxia bus picks you up in Huaraz early in the morning and takes you to the trail start at Pitec (1h drive), 4h hike.

What to bring:
Get prepared for heat, sun, rain and cold. Good hiking shoes, water, sunscreen.
